NAAMA Houston Learner/Trainee Scholarship

We are currently accepting scholarship applications.

Please review the qualification criteria and thoroughly before submitting an inquiry.

The Learner/Trainee Scholarship Program was established in 2005 with the purpose of supporting learners and trainees from an Arab background to pursue educational opportunities in the healthcare field.  The number of scholarships every fiscal year will vary based on available funds. There will be an open window to submit the applications at this point. Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee to determine eligibility and recommend funding, on a rolling basis until all the allocated funds have been used. The scholarship amount is up to $2,500 per recipient.

There are two scholarship categories:

  • Houston Scholarship: Electives/rotations in a healthcare-related institution or facility/clinic in the Houston Metro area.
  • Home Country Scholarship: Support learners in their home country.

For the Houston scholarships, the funds can be used to pay for lodging, insurance, any elective-related expenses, and travel needed during the elective period or the examination fees at the discretion of the scholarship committee. The rotation/elective needs to be at least a month in duration.

For the home-country scholarships, the funds should be used to pay for tuition, lodging, or attending a health-related conference, on the condition that the candidate will present at that conference.
